This technical intern position offers hands-on learning in the Corning Valley in NY, home to global headquarters. The area features gorges, waterfalls, lakes for water activities, wineries, and craft breweries. Communities provide excellent schools, cultural activities like Corning Museum of Glass, and events such as GlassFest.

Corning builds a diverse global workforce with 18 Employee Resource Groups and allyship resources. Summer internship strengthens pipeline for entry-level roles. Interns live, work, and experience communities while building on-the-job skills.

Requirements

  • Actively enrolled as full-time student at college or university
  • Seeking bachelor’s degree or higher in Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related
  • Current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher on 4.00 scale
  • Knowledge of polymer science and materials processing
  • Experience with laboratory techniques in materials testing
  • Familiarity with data analysis for engineering applications
  • Interest in manufacturing technologies and engineering excellence

Responsibilities

  • Support polymer material synthesis and processing experiments
  • Conduct tests on polymer properties and performance
  • Assist in optimizing manufacturing processes for polymer components
  • Analyze data from polymer engineering trials
  • Collaborate with MTE team on innovative manufacturing technologies
  • Participate in scale-up activities for polymer production
  • Operate lab equipment for polymer characterization
