About this role

This role supports the QC laboratory by planning and conducting hands-on analyses to facilitate the set-up of new instruments. Reporting to the QC Manager and QC Supervisor, the Assistant QC Chemist ensures analytical method validation, data review, and troubleshooting of instrument reliability issues.

Day-to-day responsibilities involve operating and maintaining instruments such as GC, HPLC, GPC, FTIR, and Titrators while using software like Openlab and LIMS. The role also includes reviewing and updating Quality, Safety, and training documents to maintain compliance with ISO and IATF standards.

The assistant works collaboratively with other team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks. Adherence to laboratory safety guidelines and good housekeeping practices is expected at all times.

This one-year contract position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with advanced analytical instrumentation in a structured QC environment. Successful candidates will join a team that values precision, safety, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Chemistry or a related field.
Minimum 2 to 3 years of working experience in laboratory-related functions.
Knowledge and understanding of laboratory operations, equipment (GC, HPLC, GPC, FTIR, Titrators), software (Openlab), and systems (LIMS).
Good analytical knowledge and ability to work independently.
Skills including teamwork, communication, detail-orientation, prioritization, and change management.

Responsibilities

Plan and conduct hands-on analyses to support the set-up of instruments in the QC laboratory.
Conduct analytical method validation, review data, and troubleshoot reliability issues of instruments.
Operate and maintain analytical instruments including GC, HPLC, GPC, FTIR, and Titrators.
Review and upkeep Quality, Safety, and training documents in compliance with ISO and IATF standards.
Comply with laboratory safety guidelines and maintain good laboratory housekeeping.
Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
Perform any other tasks assigned by Superiors.
