About this role

Senior Analytical Chemists prepare and conduct chemical and physical analyses on routine and non-routine samples using instruments including ICP-MS, ICP-OES, GC, GC/MS, HPLC, IC, XRF, UV-Vis, NIR, KF. They use SPC principles to verify data quality, recognize trends, and take corrective action. This ensures support for production and customer needs.

Daily tasks involve documenting, processing, transferring, and reviewing analytical data for completion, conformity, traceability, and validity. Maintain instrumentation, tools, chemicals, and consumables required for testing. Effectively troubleshoot hardware and software issues while verifying sample efficacy and proper storage or disposal.

Work on cross-functional teams as the analytical subject matter expert. Assist management with data investigations, secondary reviews, internal and external audits. Train other personnel to analyze samples or perform laboratory tasks, ensuring laboratory cleanliness for trace-level data.

Lead projects to foster continuous improvement of testing methods and practices. Compile and present data for method development, validation, and other initiatives. Follow and improve safety guidelines while maintaining a clean, orderly environment per 5S principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or related field
  • 5 years of progressive post-bachelor’s experience as an Analytical Chemist in a manufacturing or testing environment
  • 5 years of experience operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining analytical instrumentation including ICP-MS, ICP-OES, GC, GC/MS, HPLC, IC, XRF, UV-Vis, NIR, KF, spectroscopy
  • Advanced computer knowledge, including MS Office
  • Experience with proper safe handling and disposal of chemicals
  • Experience operating electrical and non-electrical laboratory equipment
