The Analytical Chemist performs and supports pharmaceutical analytical testing, serving as the primary analyst for metals impurity testing by ICP-MS.

Day-to-day responsibilities include elemental impurity testing with sample preparation, analysis, data review, troubleshooting, and reporting. The role also involves performing LC analyses for method development, optimization, validation, and routine sample testing, along with additional support using GC, IR, and KF techniques.

Work is conducted in a GxP-regulated laboratory environment requiring accurate real-time documentation and data entry. The chemist provides backup support to ensure on-time testing services and demonstrates customer interface skills while adhering to SOPs and test methods.

Requirements

BS/MS in Chemistry or other related scientific degree concentration.
3+ years of lab experience in biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical industry.
Skilled in analytical testing instrumentation, ICP-MS, and LC.
Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, instrument software applications, and laboratory management software systems.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary analyst for elemental impurity testing by ICP-MS, including sample preparation, analysis, data review, troubleshooting, and reporting.
Perform LC analyses for method development, method optimization, validation activities, and routine sample testing.
Provide additional analytical testing support services using standard techniques (GC, IR, KF) when requested.
Responsible for accurate and real-time documentation and data entry.
Provide backup support to ensure on-time testing services.
Provide customer service and exhibit customer interface skills.
Ensure activities are performed according to the appropriate SOP or test method.
