About this role

This role performs required quality control analysis of incoming, manufactured, and outgoing material, with authority to make acceptance, production adjustments, or rejection decisions. The QC Chemist provides technical support to production and sales while ensuring all QA/QC practices and procedures are followed.

Day-to-day activities include performing instrument maintenance, calibrations, quality control checks, solution preparations, and standardization. The chemist also maintains records accurately and completely, cleans glassware, and manages wastes in accordance with applicable SOPs.

This position reports to the QC Supervisor and works closely with production and other staff to maintain workload balances and provide backup support. Effective communication across Hydrite departments is essential to ensure the success of the branch team.

Hydrite is a company where people matter, is family driven, and financially strong. The schedule for this position is Friday-Sunday, 5:00am-5:30pm, with up to $3/hour shift premium on top of hourly pay.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is required; preferably in a science field.
Ability to perform required quality control analysis of incoming, manufactured, and outgoing materials.
Experience with instrument maintenance, calibrations, and quality control checks.
Ability to maintain records accurately, neatly, legibly, and completely.
Must be RCRA compliant.
Ability to manage wastes in accordance with applicable SOPs.
Ability to provide timely technical support to production.
Ability to communicate effectively with all Hydrite departments.

Responsibilities

Perform required quality control analysis of incoming, manufactured, and outgoing materials with authority to make acceptance, production adjustments, or rejection decisions.
Perform instrument maintenance, calibrations, quality control checks, solutions preparations, and standardization.
Maintain records accurately, neatly, legibly, and completely.
Assist in addressing customer product complaints and returns through investigation and analysis.
Assure timely technical support to production regarding manufacturing adjustments and quality issues.
Maintain a clean and neat laboratory at all times; clean glassware.
Manage any wastes in accordance with applicable SOPs, including labeling, storage, and profiling.
Participate in RCRA, regulatory, health & safety, and process training activities as required.
