About this role

This role provides laboratory support for consumer beauty products, specializing in triple-quadrupole Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS QQQ). The analyst performs sample preparations, extractions, and follows routine analytical methods to measure analytes from a variety of sample types.

Day-to-day work includes running validated methods on LC-MS QQQ, HPLC, and GC-FID instruments, as well as utilizing biological kits, mag-bead technology, and chemiluminescence readers. The analyst prepares samples from human source material such as hair and skin, performs serial dilutions for standards and quality control, and documents experiments via electronic lab notebook (ELN).

This position is client-facing and performed in a client laboratory, requiring strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients. The analyst complies with SOPs, safety guidelines, and the company Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies.

The role offers the opportunity to be trained on additional analytical methods and instruments, including GC, HP-LC, NMR, and biological kit assays. The analyst will work Monday through Friday, first shift, with flexibility to meet department needs and complete other projects as assigned.

Requirements

Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (or related instrumentation) experience
Precision laboratory skills including micro-pipetting, balance use, and creation of serial dilutions
Strong attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly
Good customer service skills — job is client facing and performed in client laboratory
Proficiency in basic programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience with keeping a laboratory notebook and performing basic analytical data analysis
Written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively in a group setting, with colleagues and clients
Ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize workload to meet or exceed deadlines

Responsibilities

Perform instrument analysis to measure analytes from a variety of sample types, utilizing LC-MS QQQ, HPLC, and GC-FID
Utilize biological kits, mag-bead technology, chemiluminescence, fluorescence, and absorbance readers
Perform serial dilutions to create standards and quality control samples following a written method
Prepare samples for analysis, including extractions from human source material such as hair and skin, via a written protocol
Run validated methods and maintain instrumentation
Quantitate and interpret chromatographic data
Prepare samples for NMR analysis per written protocol
Document experiments and generate data reports via ELN (electronic lab notebook)
