Leverage and develop technologies to advance 3M adhesion science daily. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on innovative adhesive solutions for customer applications. Apply expertise in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or material science.
Work onsite in Maplewood, MN, with a global, multi-disciplinary team. Strengthen proprietary positions through intellectual property development. Expect up to 5% domestic/international travel.

Requirements
- PhD degree (completed and verified prior to start) in a science or engineering discipline
- Three (3) years of experience in laboratory research in a private, public, government or military environment, including through a PhD program
- PhD or higher in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, material science, or related field from an accredited institution
- Experience in synthetic processes to generate and/or manipulate polymeric materials
- Experience utilizing modeling and simulation tools to understand and/or predict polymeric material properties
- Self-motivation to identify and execute on new technology development
- Results driven and self-motivated, with a growth mindset
- Experience developing intellectual property portfolios in collaboration with legal and other technical experts
