The QC Chemist performs required quality control analysis of incoming, manufactured, and outgoing materials. This role provides technical support to production and sales while ensuring all Quality Assurance/Quality Control practices are followed.
Daily tasks include performing sample analysis by standard wet chemistry and making acceptance, production adjustments, or rejection decisions. Maintain accurate records, perform instrument maintenance, calibrations, and quality control checks. Assist in laboratory activities to meet production requirements and uphold Hydrite Standards of Excellence.
This position reports to the Lab Supervisor and works with other staff to maintain workload balances. Supports effective communication across Hydrite departments for branch team success. Participate in RCRA, regulatory, health, safety, and process training as required.
Address customer complaints through investigation, analysis, and corrective action suggestions. Perform assigned projects, analytical developments, and revisions of quality policies. Promote complete customer satisfaction through continuous commitment to quality products and services for internal and external customers.
Requirements
- Proficiency in standard wet chemistry techniques
- Experience performing laboratory instrument maintenance and calibrations
- Knowledge of quality control and assurance practices in chemical manufacturing
- Ability to conduct sample analysis and make data-driven acceptance or rejection decisions
- Familiarity with RCRA compliance and laboratory safety protocols
- Skills in analytical method development and improvement
- Attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and documentation
- Capability to prepare solutions, standardize reagents, and perform quality checks
Responsibilities

- Perform sample analysis by standard wet chemistry
- Develop and improve existing analytical methods
- Maintain records accurately, neatly, legibly and completely
- Perform instrument maintenance, calibrations, quality control checks, solutions preparations and standardization
- Assist in addressing customer product complaints and returns through investigation and analysis
- Provide timely technical support to production in regards to manufacturing adjustments and quality issues
- Maintain a clean and neat laboratory at all times
