The purpose aligns with university guidelines to obtain a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Chemical Engineering. Duties and responsibilities will be assigned by the mentor or coach. Assignments follow the training institution's requirements where possible.

The position falls under Human Resources / Training and Development. It commences in January 2027. Applications close on 17.04.2026.

Shortlisted candidates may undergo psychometric assessments. Preference goes to employees from designated groups per the Employment Equity Act. Personal information is processed lawfully under POPI Act for recruitment.

Requirements

  • Completed all theoretical modules of a National Diploma in Chemical Engineering
  • Good understanding and knowledge of basic chemical engineering concepts
  • Medically fit for BMR and or PMR
  • Attach CV with copies of ID, Matric certificate, and statement of results
  • Provide letter from higher institution confirming theoretical subjects completed

Responsibilities

  • Receive specific duties assigned by mentor or coach
  • Follow training institution's requirements for tasks
  • Gain practical experience in analytical chemistry processes
  • Assist with sample analysis in refinery laboratory settings
  • Support chemical engineering operations under supervision
  • Participate in practical modules aligned with diploma curriculum
  • Contribute to daily analytical testing in platinum refining
