About this role
In this role, you will be responsible for developing new global product platforms for the Kitchenware and Industrial Bakeware industry. This involves formula design, coating preparation and application, and testing against regional and global specifications.
Your day-to-day work includes planning and conducting experimental work such as formulation, application, and testing of coatings. You will analyze and interpret results to contribute to new and improved product platforms, while working closely with regional labs and customers to understand their needs.
You will collaborate with commercial and technical teams across all regions, building a network to communicate project progress and future needs. The environment is team-oriented and dynamic, requiring strong collaboration skills and the ability to manage complex technical projects with multiple stakeholders.
This position offers the opportunity to develop new test methods that accelerate coating assessment and simulate customer line conditions, increasing the speed and success rate of product launches. You will also maintain a strong focus on safety and contribute to high laboratory standards.
Requirements
- Requires a degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering.
- Preferred Ph.D. degree with 1+ years of relevant formulation development experience, or M.S. degree with 4+ years.
- Relevant experience with experimental design (DOE) is desired.
- Ability to manage complex technical projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate other associates.
- Effective written and oral communication skills; English full professional proficiency.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct experimental work including formulation, application, and testing of coatings.
- Analyze and interpret experimental results to support the development of new and improved product platforms.
- Work in conjunction with regional labs on the development of new product platforms.
- Work closely with customers and regions to understand their needs and incorporate them into new product platforms.
- Coordinate related activities including material sourcing, regulatory evaluation, and application testing.
- Develop new test methods to accelerate assessment of coatings and simulate customer line conditions.
- Maintain and communicate results through written and verbal summaries, coatings reports, and gate review updates.
- Work safely, following all lab procedures and contributing to high safety standards.
