About this role

Arclin USA is seeking a Product Development Chemist II to join our Macon, GA location. Reporting to the R&T Director, this role designs and executes new product development tasks for innovative chemistry-based resin products and solutions.

This position plans and executes projects to develop quality resin products and optimize existing production. Responsibilities include conducting lab experiments, syntheses, routine testing, and production troubleshooting to support Arclin's product development strategy.

The chemist provides technical support to application groups, production, and sales in compliance with ISO standards. This role participates in product design and customer meetings, maintaining accurate records of work results and activities.

The Product Development Chemist II operates within Arclin's policies and procedures, offering product expertise to R&T, Sales, Manufacturing, and Marketing teams. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative chemistry solutions within a leading chemical company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (BSc)
  • 3-5 years' experience within an industrial chemical laboratory environment; MS degree will substitute for two years of experience
  • Knowledge of the chemistry of formaldehyde based phenolic and amino resins an asset
  • Basic understanding of the engineering processes used in resin production
  • Knowledge of experimental design, laboratory equipment, and project planning skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to document and write technical reports
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute projects to develop quality resin products and existing product production optimization for Arclin customers
  • Conduct lab experiments, syntheses, routine testing, and production troubleshooting
  • Provide technical support to the application group, production, and sales in compliance with ISO standards
  • Participate in product design and customer meetings as required
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of work results and activities
  • Provide technical support to HSE group on product MSDS and Supply Chain group for raw material sourcing
  • Maintain a clean and safe lab environment in compliance with Arclin HSE policies and procedures
  • Ensure all lab equipment is maintained and operating optimally
