About this role

Sika is a specialty chemicals company with a leading position in bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing, and protecting systems for building and motor vehicle industries. The Senior QC Chemist coordinates daily QC operations to ensure quality testing of materials meets approved specifications. The role also manages internal quality documents and coordinates with company departments.

Perform quality tests on raw materials and finished goods adhering to protocols and standards. Manage quality data for traceability in SAP system with accurate records. Facilitate tests with external parties and liaise with third-party laboratories.

Maintain lab equipment and facilities to comply with regulations, ensuring calibration and proper order. Coordinate with departments on quality issue troubleshooting and non-conformance investigations. Participate in internal and external audits for quality management systems compliance.

Conduct training sessions for laboratory staff on QC procedures and best practices. Monitor and analyse quality data trends to identify improvements and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with R&D team to support new product development and improvements.

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field with at least 2 years of experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in construction chemical industry
Strong communication skills and able to collaborate across multiple disciplines
Strong analytical skills on troubleshooting and problem solving
Able to generate reports and present technical data
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with SAP environment will be an added advantage
