As a Senior R&D Engineer, Polymer Scientist, lead research, design, and development of life-saving medical device products. This role suits candidates with deep expertise in polymer science and enthusiasm for AI and data analytics to drive next-generation technologies.

In a typical day, focus on R&D of new embolization products, including research, synthesis of new formulations, testing, and characterization activities. Design and redesign medium to high complexity medical devices and subsystems. Apply AI and data analytics to optimize material performance and accelerate product development cycles.

Work under general direction in project roles as an extended team member, conducting product testing, creating prototypes, and seeking Voice of the Customer input. Participate in pre-clinical in vivo labs, hospital observations, and customer interactions. Test designs through lab experiments and evaluations, with CFD simulation knowledge as a plus.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree
  • Deep expertise in polymer science
  • Strong enthusiasm for artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects with strong problem-solving
  • Knowledge of numerical/simulation verification using CFD codes
  • Experience in polymer synthesis and characterization for medical devices
  • Familiarity with Design Control and SOP documentation

Responsibilities

  • Research and synthesize new formulations for embolization products
  • Perform testing and characterization activities
  • Design and redesign medium to high complexity medical devices and subsystems
  • Apply AI and data analytics to optimize material performance and accelerate product development
  • Test and optimize designs by conducting lab experiments and evaluations
  • Prepare documentation in accordance with internal SOPs and Design Control
  • Participate in pre-clinical in vivo labs and customer interactions
  • Create and evaluate prototypes to generate concept approvals
