About this role

Element has an immediate opening for a Senior Polymer Engineer with experience in Failure Analysis. This position supports growth at the New Berlin location to deliver unparalleled polymer engineering services. Services range from standard materials testing to complex materials analysis and failure investigations.

Manage and execute projects assisting client companies in all facets of polymer and rubber materials usage across applications. Direct and perform testing required to support polymer-related projects and investigations. Assist in client support, business development, and marketing activities for primary markets including automotive, transportation, power generation, medical devices, aerospace, defense, oil & gas, and consumer products.

Operate and function within a team, drawing on other expertise where required. Project work may involve serving as an expert witness in insurance industry or litigation matters. Join a global network of over 7,500 scientists, engineers, and technologists across 200 sites in 30 countries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in a Polymer related field such as Materials Science, Chemistry with focus on polymers or polymer engineering
  • Experience in polymeric materials analysis and failure analysis
  • Working understanding of analytical tests such as FTIR, DSC, TGA, GC/MS, TMA, DMA, etc
  • Ability to operate and function within a team, drawing on other expertise where required
  • Flexibility and adaptability to different workloads and roles within the company
  • U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), or U.S. Government export authorization required
