As a Scientist, you will perform qualitative and quantitative analyses of organic, inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties during chemical syntheses, fermentation or drug product development process. You will use scientific judgment to adapt standard methods and techniques by applying prior work experience. Plan short-term work activities on projects and develop novel processes using creativity.
You will be an active team member who influences at the project team level and undertake mentoring activities to guide team members. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product developers, and other scientists to integrate polymer solutions into products. Communicate findings through reports, presentations, and meetings.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in polymer science and technology by attending conferences, workshops, and seminars. Manage research projects, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure completion on time. Your hard work and focus will help Pfizer achieve new milestones and benefit patients across the globe.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge in the discipline of polymer science
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative analyses of organic and inorganic compounds
- Expertise with advanced analytical techniques including FT-IR, DSC, TGA, LC-MS, GC-MS, NMR, GPC
- Scientific judgment to adapt standard methods and techniques
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience reviewing reports and analyzing data on impurities profile and critical quality attributes
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and development of new polymer materials
- Characterize polymer properties and degradation using advanced techniques like FT-IR, DSC, TGA, LC-MS, GC-MS
- Design and execute experiments to test and improve polymer performance
- Utilize advanced analytical techniques (e.g., NMR, FTIR, DSC, TGA, GPC, LC-MS, GC-MS) to characterize polymer materials
- Analyze data and interpret results to understand material behavior
- Identify and solve complex problems related to polymer synthesis and applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate polymer solutions into products
- Prepare technical reports, research papers, presentations, and documentation of experiments
