About this role

Join aevoloop, one of Europe’s fast-scaling deep-tech startups, and help build pioneering next-generation plastics. Characterize novel polyester-based plastics with regard to their mechanical, thermal and processing properties as a core contribution to product development. Take end-to-end responsibility for polymer characterization on a multi-hundred-gram scale.

Handle method development, equipment maintenance, sample preparation, measurements, data evaluation and feedback loops for material optimization. Improve and automate measurement workflows and data interpretation to increase efficiency, robustness and throughput of material analytics. Collaborate closely with R&D and Business Development to design creative and application-oriented tests for real-world use cases.

Work in a fast-paced startup environment with a hands-on mindset and structured way of working. Enjoy collaborating across disciplines while compiling and maintaining SOPs and safety documentation for a safe and compliant laboratory. Join a team of curious minds that challenge each other, collaborate openly and celebrate progress together.

Help redesign plastics for a truly circular economy with real impact. Experience flat hierarchies, fast decisions and early responsibility as the company scales. Benefit from steep learning curves, regular feedback and room to grow with the company, plus well-being perks like Hansefit membership and fresh fruit.

Requirements

  • Advanced expertise in polymer chemistry, particularly polyesters and polyamides, gained through a PhD in polymer chemistry, chemistry or a related field; industrial experience is a strong plus
  • Hands-on experience in polymer characterization, especially of thermoplastics; experience with injection molding and extrusion processes is beneficial
  • Deeply familiar with analytical and characterization methods such as DSC, TGA, NMR, mechanical testing (e.g. tensile testing, impact strength, HDT) as well as weathering and hydrolytic stability assessments
  • Communicate confidently in English, both written and spoken; German language skills are advantageous
  • Combine a hands-on mindset with a structured way of working and enjoy collaborating across disciplines in a fast-paced startup environment
