About this role

Revolution Medicines is a late-stage clinical oncology company developing novel targeted therapies for patients with RAS-addicted cancers. The company seeks a Principal Scientist to serve as Head of Analytical Chemistry within the Integrated Discovery Research team. This position drives analytical strategy supporting small molecule drug discovery programs from hit identification through candidate selection in the beyond Rule-of-Five space.

The role requires designing and leading analytical chemistry strategies and daily operations across multiple discovery stages. Responsibilities include developing robust methods using LC/MS, HPLC, SFC, and NMR for compound characterization, purity assessment, and stability studies. The scientist will also lead compound purification, chiral separations, and physicochemical property assessment.

You will collaborate closely with medicinal chemists, process chemists, and DMPK scientists to execute integrated analytical strategies. The position includes managing external service providers and ensuring high-quality data delivery while maintaining laboratory safety compliance. Additional focus involves implementing automated high-throughput methods through collaboration with LabOS and Data Sciences teams.

This opportunity offers the chance to shape analytical science at the frontiers of bRo5 drug discovery. The role includes mentoring a team of analytical chemists and contributing to invention disclosures, patent filings, and scientific publications. Success requires innovation and execution in fast-paced, data-driven research environments.
