Dominion Diagnostics is a nationally acclaimed industry leader in innovative laboratory science. Expertise includes comprehensive urine toxicology testing, chemistry, hematology, serology, infectious disease, and immunology. The Bioanalytical Chemist designs, develops, qualifies, validates, and implements analytical procedures for clinical testing of human biological samples like urine and oral fluid.

Work full-time 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday with flexible hours in the department/lab. Develop efficient and selective bioanalytical LC-MS/MS methods and prepare qualification and validation protocols and reports. Troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and optimize reversed phase chromatography systems.

Provide quality ideas and contributions to assigned challenges and offer recommendations to Dominion Diagnostics staff. Experience writing and following SOPs in a regulated laboratory environment like CAP and CLIA. Train and support production teams while communicating effectively on research results and plans.

Contribute to the technical growth of the department and company. Present ongoing work and findings to colleagues at Dominion and scientific conferences via posters, presentations, and published papers. Participate in self-development activities with the ability to work from home on a project-oriented basis.

Requirements

  • BS in biochemistry or chemistry (or BS in any life science) with 3+ years of experience, MS in chemistry with 2+ years or Ph.D.
  • Associate Degree in Science with relevant experience considered
  • Significant experience using LC/MS/MS along with theoretical understanding of underlying chemical mechanisms
  • Experience using ABSciex, Waters tandem quadrupole instruments and Thermo High Resolution Orbitrap LC-MS/MS systems
  • Experience developing bioanalytical methods including sample treatment (dilute and shoot and solid phase extraction)
  • Experience using TECAN sample prep robots
  • Ability to write clear and concise technical reports
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office and statistical software
