Independently lead design, optimisation, and scale-up of chemical processes ensuring safety, quality, manufacturability. Plan and execute laboratory, pilot-scale experiments including DoE, reaction optimisation, workup design, product characterisation. Apply advanced chemistry and process engineering to resolve complex manufacturing challenges.

Serve as technical lead providing expert input to Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain teams. Proactively troubleshoot deviations, lead root cause investigations, define corrective actions. Represent Process Chemistry in cross-functional forums, risk assessments, project reviews.

Author technical reports, SOPs, batch documentation, validation protocols for regulatory compliance. Provide mentoring to junior chemists and operations staff. Support continuous improvement, patient safety, GMP requirements, EHS excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Level 8 or higher) in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline
  • 4–6 years’ experience in a GMP-regulated environment as a Process Chemist
  • Advanced technical expertise in chemistry and process engineering
  • Ability to resolve complex manufacturing challenges and improve process robustness
  • Experience with DoE, reaction optimisation, PAT, and statistical process control
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools for process improvement
  • Strong commitment to patient safety, product quality, GMP, and EHS

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, optimisation, and scale-up of chemical processes for new and existing products
  • Independently plan and execute laboratory, pilot-scale, and plant-relevant experiments including DoE
  • Serve as a technical lead for assigned processes or projects providing expert input to cross-functional teams
  • Analyse and improve existing manufacturing processes using advanced chemistry and Lean Six Sigma tools
  • Lead technology transfer activities from development to manufacturing
  • Proactively troubleshoot complex process deviations leading root cause investigations
  • Define, justify, and defend critical process parameters to support validation and regulatory submissions
  • Implement process monitoring strategies including PAT and statistical trending
