The Chemist Analytical QC QS4 carries out work related to quality control, stability, method transfer, validation, and standard studies according to Standard Operating Procedure. Perform testing of raw materials, intermediates, finished products, R&D samples, and environmental samples using physical and chemical methods per test methods, SOPs, compendia, and Certificates of Analysis. Conduct proper labelling, inspection, and sampling of finished products, intermediates, raw materials, and recovered materials to ensure conformity with standards. Make routine decisions on simple task priorities while governed by SOPs.

Report all testing results, deviations, and problems related to instruments or methods to Supervisor/Manager. Liaise with higher level laboratory personnel to learn use of physical and chemical testing equipment and fundamental departmental and regulatory practices. Keep the workplace clean, tidy, and safe while working collaboratively as a team member.

Seek performance inputs from peers, senior team members, and supervisor to identify performance gaps. Requirements

  • Minimum B.Sc. in Chemistry or equivalent area of study
  • Develop and demonstrate basic understanding of test methods, SOPs, compendia, and Certificates of Analysis
  • Basic analytical knowledge and experience for investigation activities
  • Ability to perform physical testing of packaging components and chemical testing of samples
  • Proficiency in proper documentation and self-review of analytical data
  • Skills in calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety and housekeeping practices
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning

Responsibilities

  • Carry out quality control, stability, method transfer, validation, and standard studies according to Standard Operating Procedure
  • Perform labelling, inspection, and sampling of finished products, intermediates, raw materials, and recovered materials to ensure conformity with standards
  • Conduct physical and chemical testing of raw materials, intermediates, finished products, R&D samples, and environmental samples per test methods/SOPs/compendia
  • Report all testing results, deviations, and problems related to instruments or methods to Supervisor/Manager
  • Document analytical data, self-review for accuracy and completeness, and maintain records of retain, stability, and standard samples
  • Perform calibration of laboratory equipment according to the department’s calibration program
  • Liaise with higher level personnel to learn equipment use and departmental/regulatory practices
  • Identify needs for chemicals, gases, standards, glassware, and other accessories under guidance
