About this role

The Analytical Chemistry department develops, evaluates, and validates analytical methods for early phase research projects and New Product Introductions within Pharmaceutical Diagnostics R&D at GE HealthCare.

The Lead Analytical Scientist serves as a one-year maternity leave cover with a key role supporting contrast media and radiopharmaceutical NPI programs through HPLC method development and sample purification optimisation.

Daily work includes hands-on laboratory development, routine analyses supporting radiochemistry and formulation activities, plus active participation in cross-functional project team meetings and GxP housekeeping.

The position requires producing scientific reports and documentation packages that support regulatory submissions while working in a dynamic, time-sensitive R&D environment.

Requirements

  • MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry with essential experience in chromatography methods.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of analytical chemistry method development and validation principles according to ICH, FDA, and EMEA guidelines.
  • Strong documentation skills for regulatory and technical reporting.
  • Highly motivated with a passion for rigorous science and a strong drive for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment within a team.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment and prioritize work as assigned.
  • Fluent verbal and written English.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical expertise in the development, validation, and application of chromatography methods, especially HPLC-UV.
  • Perform hands-on laboratory work including HPLC method development, sample purification optimisation, and routine analyses.
  • Support radiochemistry and formulation development activities for contrast media and radiopharmaceutical NPI programs.
  • Participate in cross-functional project team meetings and report project progress to project leaders and line manager.
  • Produce scientific reports and documentation to support regulatory documentation packages.
  • Contribute to GxP housekeeping activities as part of daily laboratory operations.
