The role focuses on managing expertise in refrigerant compatibility with lubricant oils and materials.

Run experimental programs to characterize refrigerants and mixtures with lubricants for product applications. Ensure safe execution and high-quality results while managing lab facilities and equipment for oil compatibility measurements. Collaborate with lubricant companies to tailor products for Fluor and Energy Materials offerings.

Identify equipment upgrades for property measurements and oversee documentation for material samples between facilities. Document results professionally for internal and external reports to customers or end users. Work in a lab environment emphasizing safety and high-hazard activities.

Requirements

  • Degree in chemistry, physics, or chemical engineering
  • Advanced qualification (master’s or PhD) desirable
  • Experience working in a chemistry lab or analytical lab
  • Laboratory experience with high hazard activities desirable
  • Good attention to detail
  • Strong focus on control and management of safe experimental procedures
  • Good interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Run experimental work programs for the characterization of the behavior of refrigerants and their mixtures with lubricants in product applications testing
  • Ensure experiments are carried out safely and deliver high-quality results
  • Manage lab facilities, equipment, and supplies for ongoing projects involving lubricant oil compatibility measurements
  • Work with lubricant companies to tailor products suitable with Fluor and Energy Materials LFR product offerings
  • Identify and implement necessary upgrades or new equipment to enable required property measurements
  • Oversee and manage the documentation process for moving material samples between Fluor and Energy Materials and external facilities
  • Document results in a professional manner and generate reports for internal as well as external use with customers or end users
