About this role

You will join the Technical Application Center at BASF Italia’s Pontecchio Marconi site, working within the Analytical Laboratory dedicated to the qualification of plastic products. This role offers strong exposure to an international environment. You will collaborate closely with BASF laboratories worldwide and interact with Technical Experts in the Global Marketing & Development organization.

Independently operate key instrumental analytical techniques including HPLC, GC, IR, and UV-Vis spectroscopy. Carry out routine analytical testing on plastic materials from customers and internal production. Perform in-depth investigative analyses, benchmarking, and reverse-engineering of competitor additives.

Prepare clear, accurate analytical reports and discuss results with internal stakeholders. Plan and coordinate analytical activities with the laboratory team to meet priorities and deadlines. Contribute to efficient lab operations including equipment care and documentation adherence.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry, preferably with a focus on analytical chemistry
  • Around 2 years of experience in an analytical laboratory, quality control, or research support
  • Solid understanding of instrumental analytical techniques including HPLC, GC, IR, UV-Vis
  • Strong digital skills, particularly in Excel and Word
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken
  • High level of scientific rigor, attention to data quality, and precision in interpreting results
  • Collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams

Responsibilities
