The Senior Manager, Analytical Scientist advances analytical capabilities in botanical extract, functional bioactive compounds, protein/peptide, nutrients, dairy, and juice to support functional and nutrition innovation. The position combines technical expertise in advanced analytical methodologies with project ownership and cross-functional collaboration.

This role conducts and leads routine and non-routine analysis while managing equipment and instrument maintenance and calibration. The scientist documents findings, writes reports, and works independently or with minimum guidance to support R&D projects that enable business decisions and growth.

The position contributes to the development, application, and continuous improvement of analytical approaches supporting protein, peptide, dairy, juice, and related ingredient systems. Responsibilities include generating and interpreting complex data sets while maintaining awareness of emerging analytical technologies.

The role ensures high-quality scientific outputs across routine and non-routine workstreams and collaborates with cross-functional partners to align analytical outputs with broader business and innovation objectives. It offers the opportunity to serve as a recognized subject matter expert across the Company.

Requirements

  • PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, or related field (MS with significant experience considered)
  • Strong expertise in HPLC-MS/MS, both targeted and non-targeted workflows
  • Experience in proteomics and/or peptide analysis highly preferred
  • Experience in botanical extract analysis highly preferred
  • Proven experience in method development and validation
  • Experience working with food, beverage, or dairy systems highly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of LIMS, quality management systems, and multivariable data analysis
  • Recognized subject matter expert with advanced ability to integrate techniques across a broad range of problems

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and lead routine and non-routine analysis supporting protein, peptide, dairy, juice, and related ingredient systems
  • Manage routine equipment and instrument maintenance and calibration for advanced analytical platforms
  • Develop, apply, and continuously improve analytical methodologies including targeted and non-targeted workflows
  • Generate and interpret complex data sets to support R&D projects from ingredient understanding through commercialization
  • Perform advanced, complex testing at high throughput using HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS, HRMS, SDS-PAGE, ELISA, and related techniques
  • Troubleshoot sophisticated R&D problems with limited time and resources while applying Good Laboratory Practices
  • Document findings, write reports, and clearly articulate complex science to both technical and non-technical audiences
