About this role

Focus your research efforts and develop your expertise and emerging research profile in polymer chemistry for environmental remediation. Join an established team of researchers and collaborate on cutting edge projects to help change the world. This is a research focused position.

Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, and publish in reputable journals. Utilize best practice research methodologies and participate in project discussions. Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, and provide performance feedback and training.

Based at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) on St Lucia Campus. Work alongside the brightest minds from around the world in an environment where interdisciplinary collaborations are encouraged. Access world-class facilities and equipment as part of UQ, a Group of Eight university.

Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, and engage in internal service roles. Requirements

  • Completion or near completion of a PhD in polymer or organic chemistry
  • Emerging research profile in chemistry and materials science and engineering
  • Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals
  • Presenting at conferences
  • Contributions towards successfully obtaining external research funding
  • Some experience in meaningful internal service roles
