Candidate brings proven track record of polymer formulation and development of new materials. Conduct hands-on experiments to solve technical problems in chemistry and polymer science. Manage product and process development initiatives requiring advanced concepts.

Requirements
- B.S. Degree with minimum 5+ years experience, M.S. with 3+ years, or entry-level PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or related disciplines
- Proven track record of polymer formulation and development of new materials
- Experience in Research and Development environment with chemical formulation
- Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Industrial Security clearance
- Knowledge of industry practices and standards in chemical formulation, fabrication, and testing of materials
- Experience in polymer production methods and scaling of polymer production
- Understanding of thermomechanical testing of polymers including rheology, tribology, fracture, and impact
- Effective technical communication, interpersonal, presentation, and technical writing skills
Responsibilities
- Develop new and next generation polymers
- Perform hands-on laboratory formulation and optimization of high performance polymer materials such as coatings, molding compounds, adhesives, resins, sealants, and foams
- Manage product and process development initiatives in chemistry and polymer science
- Scale polymer production methods
- Conduct thermomechanical testing of polymers and composites including rheology, tribology, fracture, and impact
- Lead project scoping, costing, scheduling, and execution with competing deadlines
- Take innovative technologies from applied research to product development and commercial market
- Interact with industry and government research sponsors
