Provide key analytical data to Research and Development, Technical Service and Supply Chain to support new product development and optimization.

Perform both standard and novel laboratory tests using appropriate analytical instruments and methods. This includes pre and post-experiment calculations, sample preparation, and preparing detailed reports. A chromatography, specifically LC-MS, background is preferred, with statistical analysis of data as required.

Interact with the AkzoNobel technical community including chemists, formulators, engineers, and Research and Development managers. Attend cross-discipline meetings as required to collaborate effectively across functions.

Contribute to personal growth by expanding knowledge of analytical instrumentation through in-house training, courses, or professional society meetings. Conform with all site and laboratory safety requirements. Ability to travel up to 10% supports broader project needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 3 years' laboratory experience in an industrial laboratory
  • Ability to operate advanced analytical equipment including spectroscopy or chromatography instruments
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain instrumentation; hands-on mechanical skills preferred
  • Ability to maintain detailed records on all projects
  • Effective organizational and project management skills to deliver results on schedule
  • Ability to work across functions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities
