About this role

The Analytical Chemist II prepares and runs stability samples for routine methods like assay and degradants using HPLC and GC instrumentation with wet lab experience. This role operates in a GMP environment through electronic notebooking. It reports to the Manager in the Consumer Products Services division.

Daily tasks include performing HPLC and GC on routine samples, physical testing such as pH, specific gravity, and water activity. Responsibilities cover pipetting, serial dilutions with volumetric glassware, and using microbalance and analytical balance. Sample preparation follows prescribed testing standards and specifications.

Adhere to test methods, SOPs, and Bureau Veritas quality, health, safety, security, and environmental policies. Perform quality and safety checks on submitted samples, maintain lab cleanliness, supplies, and instrumentation. Work with sensitive materials requiring medical surveillance in a team setting.

Accurately report test data in electronic or handwritten notebooks timely. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of methods and products. Handle other duties as defined by Manager, department needs, and workload.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of GMP regulations
  • Written and verbal communication skills including ability to communicate effectively in a group setting
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with Windows, Word and Excel
  • Attention to detail
  • Technical problem solving and process improvement skills
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with HPLC or GC

Responsibilities

  • Understand and adhere to standards for appropriate test methods and SOPs
  • Prepare equipment for testing using prescribed standards and specifications
  • Perform HPLC and GC on routine samples
  • Perform physical testing methods including pH, specific gravity, water activity
  • Perform pipetting and serial dilutions using volumetric glassware
  • Utilize microbalance and analytical balance
  • Prepare a variety of samples for testing following testing standards
  • Accurately report and record test data in electronic notebook or handwritten notebooks
