As an individual contributor, Senior R&D Engineer, Polymer Scientist, be involved in research, design, and development of life-saving medical device products. This role combines deep expertise in polymer science with strong enthusiasm for AI and data analytics.

Primary focus on R&D of new embolization products, including research and synthesis of new formulations, performing testing and characterization activities. Design and redesign medium to high complexity medical devices and subsystems. Apply AI and data analytics to optimize material performance and accelerate product development cycles.

Work under general direction in a project role, participating in pre-clinical in vivo labs, observing cases in hospitals, and customer interactions. Minimum of 4 days a week onsite to foster a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration. In-person exchanges invaluable to putting patients first.

Conduct product testing, create models and prototypes, translate Voice of the Customer into requirements. Contribute inventions, new designs, and techniques regarded as advances in the medical community. Actively seek out solutions to common and uncommon problems with a strong problem-solving ability.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree
  • Deep expertise in polymer science
  • Strong enthusiasm for artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics
  • Experience in research, synthesis, testing, and characterization of polymers
  • Knowledge of numerical/simulation verification using CFD codes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects
  • Strong problem-solving ability for a range of complexity

Responsibilities

  • Research and synthesize new formulations for embolization products
  • Perform testing and characterization activities
  • Design and redesign medium to high complexity medical devices and subsystems
  • Apply AI and data analytics to optimize material performance
  • Test and optimize designs by conducting lab experiments and evaluations
  • Prepare full documentation in accordance with internal SOPs and Design Control
  • Participate in pre-clinical in vivo labs and customer interactions
  • Create and evaluate prototypes to generate concept and model approvals
