About this role

Syensqo is all about chemistry, referring to chemical reactions and the magic when brightest minds work together. This full-time Polymer Scientist position supports the Coatings business segment of Syensqo Novecare at the R&I Center. It focuses on emulsion polymerization group via current technologies and new products for waterborne formulations.

Conduct emulsion polymerization and perform testing for latex characterizations daily. Develop new products and applications as part of project teams. Understand market needs, identify customer opportunities, and initiate projects for coatings and adhesives.

Collaborate with global and regional R&I teams to facilitate innovation transfers. Work closely with business, marketing, and commercial teams. Provide technical training and support to customers while maintaining a safe work area per Syensqo policies.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in polymer synthesis especially latex synthesis
  • Experience working with products and technologies in emulsion polymerizations
  • Working knowledge of additives, surfactants and polymers used in the coatings, adhesives and construction materials markets
  • Experience in waterborne formulations like coatings and adhesives
  • Customer support and technical service experience with surfactants and monomers for waterborne paint applications
  • Strong team player and excellent collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
