Are you a passionate Scientist with expertise in synthetic chemistry and great interest in the development of Oligonucleotide Therapeutics? Join our growing Oligonucleotide Chemistry team within the Oligonucleotide Discovery Department in Gothenburg, Sweden. Apply your expert synthetic organic chemistry knowledge to expand oligonucleotides and molecular conjugates in disease treatment across therapy areas.

As a synthesis specialist, synthesize and purify high quality building blocks and compounds using cutting-edge technologies to support project progression from pre-TSID to CDID. Troubleshoot challenges, apply purification and analytical sciences, and contribute to practical delivery of project compounds. Develop new building blocks, linkers, and set up new techniques while supervising junior colleagues.

Work in close collaboration with Scientists in Discovery Sciences, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, DMPK, Safety and Pharmaceutical sciences. Focus on designing and developing oligonucleotide therapeutics of the future. Build strong collaborative relationships within the team and projects to ensure smooth running.

Propose experimental strategies, plan, prioritize and perform your own work, driving problem solving using literature and own knowledge. Demonstrate passion for driving scientific questions with strong working ethics. Enjoy a highly rewarding scientific environment with expectation to publish new findings.

Requirements

  • PhD in Organic Chemistry
  • Detailed knowledge of synthetic chemistry related to oligonucleotides, oligo building blocks and/or synthesis of advanced organic molecules
  • Solid support synthesis expertise within the oligonucleotide or peptide chemistry field
  • Ability to design and execute experiments autonomously
  • Evidence of experimental impact by peer-reviewed publications or external presentations
  • Passion for driving scientific questions
  • Ability to work independently with a positive, result-oriented, problem-solving attitude
  • Excellent English, both spoken and written, for multi-disciplinary research environment
