Perform testing per SOPs and regulations including USP, EP, JP, and cGMP. Apply lab techniques to address specific problems and independently design experiments for assay development. Operate equipment and utilize software like Empower, LIMS, and Oracle for testing and data handling.

Act as subject matter expert for defined business areas and lead project teams or disciplines. Communicate deviations, progress, and results to study management while liaising with Quality Assurance. Train laboratory personnel and contribute ideas to improve techniques, protocols, and equipment.

Write technical reports for internal use and collaborate on external papers. Create and revise SOPs, laboratory records, and documentation. Comply with health and safety regulations in a collaborative, innovative environment fostering curious minds.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in scientific discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology) with 2+ years of scientific/laboratory experience
  • M.S./M.A. in scientific discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology) with 5+ years of scientific/laboratory experience
  • Thorough understanding of company testing services, technical principles, and applications
  • Experience with laboratory techniques for analytical chemistry and assay development
  • Proficiency in lab software including Empower, LIMS, Oracle, Word, and Excel
  • Knowledge of GxP laboratory testing, SOPs, and regulations (USP, EP, JP, cGMP)
  • Ability to maintain detailed workbooks/documentation per professional/industry standards

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing in accordance with SOPs and regulations (USP, EP, JP and general cGMP)
  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) for specific defined area(s) of MilliporeSigma business
  • Apply laboratory techniques and skills to complete experiments designed to address specific problems
  • Independently apply basic scientific principles in the design of experiments and development of assays
  • Make detailed observations, document results, and perform data analysis
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment as required by SOPs and testing procedures
  • Utilize problem solving/troubleshooting skills and communicate deviations/events to Study Management
  • Create/revise SOPs, laboratory records, and write technical reports
