About this role
We’re looking for skilled scientists and engineers to drive advancements in chemical microsystems research for the Department of Defense. Clients pursue revolutionary progress in synthetic chemistry, molecular readers, materials fabrication and assembly, and molecular machines for next-generation microsystem manufacturing. Ideal candidates have technical experience and skills in managing technical projects.
As a synthetic chemist, work with DARPA program managers to oversee creation and execution of advanced R&D programs in microsystems design for imaging applications. Identify program goals, limitations in past approaches, new insights, and metrics for mission success. Collaborate with world-class scientists and engineers.
Maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations on feasibility and impact of future research programs to colleagues and clients. Assist with management of current programs. Facilitate transition of program deliverables to DoD stakeholders.

Requirements
- Experience in synthetic chemistry, biomolecular sequencing, materials science and fabrication, or solution assembly for development of new molecular machines and composite microsystems
- Experience authoring, editing, and proofreading technical papers, presentations, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience meeting target milestones, timelines, and budgets for projects or programs
- Ability to travel at least 10% of the time
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
