In this role, perform synthesis and scale-up of small organic molecules, intermediates, and active ingredients on milligram to multikilogram quantities. Plan synthesis including retrosynthesis and literature search. Develop and optimize routes to advanced intermediates and finished products through chemical, physical, and preparative processes.
Plan, evaluate, and document experiments while preparing tech transfer documents such as lab development reports. Support tolling related activities and collaborate with cross-functional project teams such as research, analytical, and safety. Adhere to BASF Environmental Health Safety (EHS), HR policies, and work practices.

Requirements
- Postgraduate (M.Sc.) in organic chemistry with sound theoretical knowledge in organic synthesis
- Working experience of 5 to 8 years in chemical, pharmaceutical, or agrochemical industry as a chemist
- Adequate communication and technical skills required to perform the job
- Proficiency in retrosynthetic analysis and literature-based route planning
- Hands-on experience with laboratory scale-up and process optimization
- Familiarity with chemical lab safety and documentation standards
