Assemble, disassemble, clean, load, and maintain chemical reactors while performing hands-on laboratory experiments with solid, liquid, and gaseous chemicals, some hazardous. Prepare samples to minimize contamination in laboratory, clean booth, or clean room environments. Use common equipment like glassware, Schlenk lines, and inert atmosphere chambers.

Apply chemical hygiene practices, follow safe chemical and waste handling policies, and prioritize safety for self, team, and environment. Read chemical literature and SDS to identify and mitigate risks from toxic, flammable, or reactive materials. Use administrative, engineering, and personal protective controls consistently.

Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks, write weekly summary reports, and analyze data using MS Excel, JMP, Origin, or ChemDraw. Troubleshoot issues with Response Flow Checklists, develop SOPs, and conduct literature reviews. Protect intellectual property in an exciting, rewarding environment with great people.

Requirements

  • 4 Year Degree
  • Knowledge of chemical principles, synthetic techniques, and characterization methods
  • Ability to calculate stoichiometry for chemical reactions
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools such as MS Excel, JMP, Origin, ChemDraw
  • Understanding of safe handling of hazardous chemicals including toxic, flammable, pyrophoric materials
  • Familiarity with chemical literature and SDS for risk mitigation
  • Skills in troubleshooting experimental or equipment issues

  • Analyze experimental outcomes using graphical representations, statistics, and modeling
  • Conduct literature reviews
