About this role

The Materials Innovation Pipeline forms the starting point for developing new, innovative materials that find application in the semiconductor industry. During your internship, you become part of a dynamic team in Darmstadt focused on the synthesis of organic molecules and polymers. This role offers your first insight into industrial research work.

You synthesize new compounds independently, interpret analytical data on your own, and delve into relevant specialist literature. Your tasks center on hands-on work in organic synthesis and polymer chemistry within the innovation pipeline. This provides direct involvement in cutting-edge materials development.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in Master's program in Chemistry, preferably at universities in Rhein-Main/Rhein-Neckar area
  • Familiar with basic working methods of preparative organic chemistry
  • Very good knowledge and interest in organic synthesis/polymer chemistry
  • German language skills: C1
  • Available for 3-5 months starting February 2026
  • Compelling cover letter and CV required

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize new organic compounds and polymers independently
  • Interpret analytical data from syntheses autonomously
