The Director / Senior Director will lead development and optimization of half-life extension strategies to enhance enzyme stability, activity, and immune shielding.

This role oversees the design, execution, and translation of conjugation technologies, ensuring alignment with Zyphore’s pipeline and platform goals. Daily work involves advancing precision biopolymer conjugation and fusion strategies to overcome immunogenicity and clearance challenges. Responsibilities include implementing site-specific conjugation, PEGylation, and glycoengineering methodologies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams in protein engineering, enzyme screening, and translational science to integrate bioconjugation across the R&D pipeline. Manage external partnerships with CDMOs for technology innovation. Operate within Raven, RA Capital’s healthcare incubator, supported by experienced scientists and operators with deep sector expertise.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in biopolymer conjugation chemistry such as biologic PEGylation, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), biopolymer synthesis, and biopolymer analytical methods
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional scientific teams
  • Background in glycobiology, glycoengineering, chemical biology, carbohydrate synthesis, and synthetic biology
  • Emphasis on site-directed conjugation methods
  • Experience overseeing design, execution, and translation of conjugation technologies
  • Knowledge of analytical method development for enzyme activity and PK/PD properties

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of novel conjugation chemistries to optimize enzyme-based therapeutics, focusing on stability, targeted delivery, and half-life extension
  • Advance precision biopolymer conjugation and fusion strategies to overcome immunogenicity and clearance challenges
  • Oversee the design and execution of analytical assays to assess enzyme activity post-conjugation and PK/PD properties
  • Implement state-of-the-art conjugation methodologies, including site-specific conjugation, PEGylation, and glycoengineering
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including protein engineering, enzyme screening, and translational science, to integrate bioconjugation solutions across the R&D pipeline
  • Identify and manage collaborations with CDMOs
