About this role
The next generation of high-end hearing aids present big challenges in regard to performance, regulations, and compliance within environmental and bio safety, and are constantly under development. In the role as Material Specialist you will contribute to our purpose of Bringing People Closer by providing your expertise and ideas to the development of the next generation of high-end hearing aids for consumers around the world.
With a focus on enabling maximum usability, durability, consumer biosafety, and comfort, you will work on developing future solutions by bringing the right materials and materials technology into the process. You will scout different industries for relevant materials and research potential materials.
At our headquarters in Ballerup, you will become a part of the Product Development team committed to developing intelligent audio solutions, with focus on materials and biosafety. You will work in an international environment with mechanical, biosafety and materials specialists, acoustic engineers and other colleagues from R&D, Marketing, Procurement, and many other functions on innovative development projects.
This position is about finding and maturing the future materials for the best hearing aids in the world. About exploring and experimenting with new technologies from different industries and thinking creatively to see how these can be used to provide unique benefits for our clients.
Requirements
- MSc degree or PhD in chemistry, materials science or equivalent
- Solid knowledge on polymer materials and their processing
- Experience with materials science, polymer chemistry and processing from previous positions as a materials chemist or scientist, research engineer or similar
- Knowledge and experience in sustainability processes and materials
- Experience with medical devices or medical-grade plastics desirable
- Comprehensive interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in English, written and spoken
- Customer centric mindset with a commitment to challenge processes and thoughts to ensure consumers are always at the center
Responsibilities
- Scout different industries for relevant materials
- Research potential materials, suggest the most relevant to the organization and partake in the decision-making processes
- Support global R&D with advice on materials as well as polymer and surface chemistry
- Ensure material efficiency, consumer biosafety, environmental compliance, and usability throughout
- Develop and maintain verification plans
- Continuously check for compliance with regulatory requirements
