About this role

United Therapeutics is the first publicly-traded biotech as a public benefit corporation, developing therapies for PAH, PH-ILD, PF, and neuroblastoma. We seek an Associate I or II, API Production for our small molecule manufacturing team. This role produces active pharmaceutical ingredients for commercial drugs and those in development using cGMP in a kilo lab.

Perform API production operations following batch records and standard operating procedures per cGMP guidelines. Operate production equipment such as reactors, filters, and rotary evaporators. Clean production labs, areas, equipment, and glassware per specific procedures.

Dispose of hazardous chemical wastes safely according to federal, state, and local laws. Request and return materials using STO process in SAP, and complete production execution in SAP. Communicate with other UT departments and vendors on API production requirements.

Follow safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment. Join a team advancing organ manufacturing to address transplant shortages for kidneys, hearts, lungs, and livers. Contribute to novel therapies expanding transplantable organs.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or Associates Degree in chemistry or related field
  • 2+ years of relevant small molecule pharmaceutical manufacturing experience with a H.S. Diploma or Associates Degree
  • Knowledge and ability to operate laboratory equipment
  • Knowledge of chemical property, and organic chemistry basic lab skills such as checking TLC, extraction, evaporation and crystallization
  • Basic use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry or related field (preferred)
  • Familiarity with cGMP (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Perform API production operations following batch records and related standard operating procedures per cGMP guidelines

  • Clean production labs, general production areas, equipment, and glassware following their specific procedures
  • Dispose of hazardous chemical wastes in a safe and environmentally correct manner according to federal, state and local laws
  • Request and return materials using STO process in SAP
  • Communicate with other UT departments and vendors related to API production requirements
  • Complete production execution in SAP
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
