About this role
At Bayer, we are visionaries determined to overcome the planet's greatest challenges, contributing to a world with enough food and adequate medical care for all. Join our team with energy, curiosity, and dedication, learning from others, expanding your mindset, and redefining the impossible. If you seek a varied and meaningful career impacting real change with brilliant minds, we want you.
As a Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry, become a member of project teams identifying candidates for preclinical and clinical development to address unmet medical needs. Contribute to design teams validating target molecules and clarifying disease-target relationships through biologically active compounds. Support chemical biology and lead identification from our library of over 4.5 million compounds.
Collaborate with computational chemists on structure-based drug discovery approaches and implement novel design ideas via practical synthetic chemistry. Work closely with project chemists, automated medicinal chemistry groups, or contract research institutes to meet project goals. Ensure timely documentation of experiments with in-depth data analysis using LC-MS, MS, NMR, and physicochemical characterization.
Familiarize yourself with modern analytical methods and separation technologies while contributing to intellectual property protection alongside patent attorneys. Maintain high safety standards and compliance in your work environment. Drive pharmaceutical research by questioning the status quo in drug discovery and medicinal chemistry.
