This role requires a talented synthetic chemist with exceptional knowledge of experimental organic chemistry and modern methods for synthesis, purification, and characterization. Design multi-step syntheses of intermediates, building blocks, and final products using solid-phase and solution chemistry techniques. Perform thorough purification and characterization of synthetic products.

Requirements

BS or MS in Organic Chemistry with 3+ years of relevant industrial experience
Experience in traditional and contemporary organic synthesis techniques
Proficiency with analytical instruments such as NMR, IR, MS, and elemental analysis
Familiarity with low temperature reactions, inert atmosphere, metal-catalyzed cross coupling, hydrogenation
Knowledge of purification methods including column chromatography and HPLC
Record of success in execution of new synthetic routes for intermediates and novel molecules
Proven ability to troubleshoot problematic routes and deliver compounds in suitable yield and purity
Ability to work safely with potentially hazardous chemicals

Responsibilities

Design multi-step syntheses of intermediates, building blocks and final products
Utilize solid-phase and solution chemistry techniques
Perform thorough purification of compounds
Characterize synthetic products using modern methods
Execute organic synthesis with low temperature reactions, inert atmosphere techniques
Apply metal-catalyzed cross coupling and hydrogenation reactions
Operate analytical instruments including NMR, IR, MS for compound characterization
