The Chemical Process Research & Development (CPRD) department focuses on synthetic methodologies for small molecules, oligonucleotides, peptides, and ADCs. Process Analytical Research (PAR) provides analytical data and expertise for all chemical process activities.

As Principal Scientist, provide advanced analytical characterization and problem-solving using HRMS workflows across the portfolio. Partner closely with process chemists and cross-functional stakeholders. Act as project analyst to drive execution, prioritization, and communication of analytical strategy and results.

Requirements

  • Expertise in High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRMS) applied across modalities including small molecules, peptides, oligonucleotides, and bioconjugates including ADCs
  • Strong interest in broad portfolio impact and digital enablement
  • Ability to provide analytical data and expertise for chemical process development
  • Experience operating as scientific leader partnering with process chemists
  • Proficiency in HRMS workflows for advanced characterization and problem-solving
  • Knowledge of ensuring regulatory compliance and minimizing environmental impact in API production

Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply HRMS-based methods to characterize materials across small molecules, peptides, oligonucleotides, and bioconjugates
  • Provide advanced analytical characterization and problem-solving using HRMS workflows to support chemical process development
  • Partner closely with process chemists and cross-functional stakeholders as a scientific leader
  • Act as project analyst to drive execution, prioritization, and clear communication of analytical strategy and results
  • Design and implement state-of-the-art analytical methods to ensure quality and performance
  • Generate and document essential end-to-end knowledge for chemical process activities
  • Refine synthetic routes and scale up processes from laboratory to commercial levels
