About this role

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry seeks a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level in any area of inorganic chemistry. The new faculty member will join a highly innovative, interdisciplinary community on the main campus in Columbus, Ohio. Outstanding facilities support advanced research programs.

Commit to excellence in graduate and undergraduate education through teaching and mentoring. Develop impactful, productive, and novel research programs including extramural funding. Contribute to service within the department and the university.

Access state-of-the-art NMR spectroscopy up to 1.2 GHz, mass spectrometry, X-ray crystallography, and cryo-electron microscopy. Utilize the supercomputing center for computational work. Collaborate with top materials science, engineering, biology, and medicinal colleagues.

Position begins in Autumn 2026 with opportunities for collaboration and advancement. Demonstrate potential excellence in highly innovative research. Outstanding applicants in all areas of inorganic chemistry will be considered.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field
  • Demonstrated potential excellence in highly innovative research
  • Strong commitment to teaching and mentoring
  • Outstanding record in any area of inorganic chemistry
  • Postdoctoral experience highly desirable
