About this role
The Research Chemist - Synthesis assists and conducts laboratory experiments, professional research, and analytical testing. This role involves conducting organic synthesis reactions and experiments while making scientific and technical observations. Responsibilities include recording, analyzing, summarizing data, documenting projects in reports, and communicating findings with supervisor.
Exhibit expertise in organic chemistry by performing chemical synthesis relevant to citrus oil applications. Plan, organize, and implement research or technical projects as designated by supervisor. Apply scientific methods to design and execute experiments that provide meaningful data.
This position operates in both laboratory and professional office environments. It is a full-time role with business hours from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. The role requires less than 10% travel and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
Research and develop new technologies and products aligned with organizational functions and goals. Effectively search and study patents and technical literature. May attend conferences relevant to project activities for professional growth.
Requirements
- Proven track record in problem solving, experimental design, and innovation
- Ability to assess the viability of a project through cost, performance, and/or environmental concerns
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate ability to learn and utilize advanced research instrumentation to analyze data and interpret results (LC/MS, GC/MS, NMR)
- Manage time effectively on various projects and prioritize activities in a fast-paced environment
- Multi-task numerous projects simultaneously and follow safe laboratory practices
