About this role
At bp, the Inorganic Chemistry Lead joins a global team of scientists providing data and insight across research and innovation into low carbon technologies. This role supports bp's strategic framework across fuels, biofuels, SAF, biogas, feedstocks, hydrogen, and cross‑cutting low‑carbon initiatives.
The Lead is responsible for fundamental and exploratory studies in chemistry and catalysis to support technology deployed within the business. They lead experimental programmes in heterogeneous catalysis to develop new technology for conversion chemistry, designing, executing, and interpreting experimental work.
The role reports to the Applied Chemistry Manager within the Bioenergy & Hydrogen Technology team, part of the Fuels & Low Carbon Technology global organization. bp provides an open and inclusive culture with a great work-life balance and tremendous learning and development opportunities.
This position offers the chance to craft your career path while contributing to bp's low carbon ambitions. The Applied Chemistry team works across multiple interfaces to identify opportunities where applied chemistry can add value to the business, from early-stage concepts through deployment ready solutions.
