About this role

The Research Chemist is responsible for meeting the analytical testing requirements to support research and development projects primarily focused on oligonucleotides. This role ensures accurate execution of testing protocols for method development, qualification, verification, validation, and transfer. It plays a vital part in advancing oligonucleotide-focused R&D initiatives.

Day-to-day duties involve executing testing per method or protocol and analyzing test samples from oligonucleotide projects. Process data accurately and report results to support ongoing research and development efforts. Perform method development experiments to refine analytical approaches.

Conduct GDP peer review and contribute to technical documentation for project needs. Attend and contribute to analytical project meetings while maintaining laboratory compliance. Execute tasks efficiently to deliver project results on time.

This position fosters a positive work atmosphere within the analytical team. Apply knowledge of general and organic chemistry alongside fundamental analytical techniques for identification, purity, and assay. Operate key instruments like KF and U/HPLC in a compliant R&D environment.

Requirements

  • BA/BS with 1+ yrs. of related experience
  • MS with 0+ yrs. of related experience
  • Understand laboratory SOPs
  • Operate KF, U/HPLC instruments
  • Knowledge of undergraduate general and organic chemistry
  • Analytical chemistry knowledge including application of fundamental analytical techniques for identification, purity, and assay
  • Basic Word and Excel
  • Perform algebraic and basic statistical calculations correctly
