The Organic Chemistry Manufacturing department delivers premier fluorescent probes and reagents that enable customers to advance scientific discovery through cellular labeling and detection. The role involves applying organic chemistry synthesis skills to supply research and commercial products that help make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

You perform multi-step organic synthesis in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while following all safety policies and quality system requirements. Work occurs under close supervision of senior scientists using established process instructions, with accurate documentation in Master Batch Records and Work Instructions.

The position offers the chance to cross-train across multiple manufacturing departments including finished goods, particles and quantum dot chemistry, and protein/dye conjugation. This builds flexibility to support varying production needs based on customer demand.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry required.
  • 1+ years of applicable experience in organic synthesis preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screen.
  • Capable of performing bench science activities in accordance with established synthesis procedures.
  • Able to develop a personal schedule to complete assigned work on time.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety policies and guidelines related to process equipment operation, chemical handling, and waste disposal.
  • Perform multi-step organic synthesis in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to deliver products meeting quality standards on time.
  • Complete work under close supervision of senior scientists while following manufacturing process instructions and quality system requirements.
  • Recognize manufacturing problems and process failures, then collaborate with senior staff to implement corrections.
  • Maintain clear, complete, and exact records of all manufacturing work using Master Batch Records and Work Instructions.
  • Cross-train in other manufacturing departments to develop flexibility to support varying production needs.
  • Complete all assigned tasks daily, including occasional overtime or weekend work based on customer demand fluctuations.
