About this role
The Senior Research Chemist develops new cleaners/etchants used to manufacture semiconductor IC and memory devices. This role requires in-depth knowledge applicable to semiconductor IC and memory device fabrication, preferably on cleans, etches, electrochemistry and surface preparation. The position ensures research activities maintain a competitive position and profitability.
Starting with the concept of what is needed, the chemist develops commercially viable products in a timely fashion. Plans and conducts a variety of complex technical projects under very general directions. Performs work independently with instructions as to the general results expected and adheres to all safety rules.
Develops and characterizes the performance of new products through experimental designs and mechanism studies. Collaborates with Applications Engineers and Sales to introduce products into customer applications. Leads joint development activities with external research firms and provides training on new products and methods.
Participates in technical and business strategy development and presents work at scientific meetings and trade shows. Consults with top management and research team, making recommendations based on research findings and product performance. Works with research staff, process development, pilot plant, production, QC, marketing and customers.
