As Synthetic Chemist - Medicinal Chemistry, design and execute multi-step syntheses of novel compounds targeting therapeutic areas. Requirements

Strong expertise in synthetic organic chemistry
Knowledge of medicinal chemistry principles and drug discovery processes
Proficiency in modern purification and analytical techniques
Experience with parallel synthesis and automated chemistry
Ability to independently plan and execute complex syntheses
Familiarity with structure elucidation using NMR and mass spectrometry
Adherence to laboratory safety and documentation standards
Background in handling air- and moisture-sensitive reagents

Responsibilities

Design and execute multi-step organic syntheses for medicinal chemistry targets
Optimize synthetic routes to enhance yield, purity, and scalability
Purify compounds using chromatography, crystallization, and distillation techniques
Characterize products with NMR, LC-MS, HPLC, and other analytical methods
Document experiments meticulously in lab notebooks and prepare reports
Collaborate with biologists and computational chemists to advance projects
Troubleshoot reaction issues and develop alternative synthetic strategies
Synthesize compound libraries for structure-activity relationship studies
