On the Differential Platform Team, you’ll drive discovery in metabolomics with expertise in small molecule synthesis within human-relevant chemical space. Accelerate the mission to identify unknown metabolites at scale.

Lead small molecule synthesis efforts and design efficient synthetic routes to access structurally diverse libraries of metabolites, including under-explored classes. Develop and scale parallel synthesis workflows for rapid production of metabolite analogs. Translate computationally predicted structures into confirmed, fully characterized compounds.

Collaborate in tight feedback loops with analytical chemists and data scientists predicting novel metabolite structures from mass spectrometry data. Partner with metabolomics teams relying on synthetic standards for validation across datasets. Shape the compound collection strategy to explore key regions of chemical space.

Requirements

PhD in synthetic organic chemistry
2+ years of hands-on experience in small molecule synthesis design, execution, and analysis
Energized by variety and comfortable pivoting between compound classes and adapting routes on the fly
Experience working across dozens of distinct scaffolds rather than single total synthesis campaigns
Enjoys working at the boundary of computation and synthesis
Sees data-driven target selection as an opportunity

Responsibilities

Lead small molecule synthesis efforts
Design and execute efficient synthetic routes to access structurally diverse libraries of metabolites, including under-explored compound classes
Develop and scale parallel synthesis workflows that enable rapid production of metabolite analogs for biological and analytical validation
Translate computationally predicted molecular structures into confirmed, fully characterized compounds
Establish best practices for synthesis prioritization, route scouting, and library design
Collaborate with analytical chemists and data scientists in tight feedback loops on novel metabolite structures
Provide synthetic standards to metabolomics teams for validating discoveries
